And since my youngest is still ill and couldn't go to the movies, I continued the chick-flick day by going to our library and checking out "Heidi", starring Shirley Temple.

She was an American Girl
I took my daughter to see "Kit Kittredge, An American Girl" at the theater yesterday. All in all, a pretty good kid's movie, reminded me of Disney (non-animated) classics from my childhood, as well as Nancy Drew stories. Being that it was set during the Great Depression, it gave me the opportunity to talk to my 7-year old about that history and her grandparents' experiences growing up at that time. My girl certainly liked it, which to me is more important than sourpuss reviews like Stephen Hunter's of the Washington Post.
